Intern Spotlight: Max Rudzinsky

This week’s intern spotlight is Max Rudzinsky!

Max is a first-year graduate student from Boston working toward his Master of Professional Science Degree in Coastal Zone Management from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. He graduated virtually with a B.A. in Marine Affairs from UMiami in the Spring of 2020. Max is a certified PADI Divemaster who has always had a deep connection with our coasts and oceans and has always felt the need to give back. During one of his summers in Miami, Max worked for an environmental consulting firm. Through this experience he oversaw the field implementation of a seagrass restoration mitigation plan and also gained experience with derelict vessel removal and mangrove restoration.

Max is currently working as an Intern Director at Seaside Sustainability, assisting in running our internship program and is also a Management Fellow for the Marine Science and Education team. When he first began his internship here, Max looked forward to bringing his wide range of classroom knowledge and field experience to Seaside Sustainability to help make an impact in the local communities near where he grew up in Massachusetts. He chose to be a Fellow because of the wide range of skills he could develop in a hands-on capacity through Seaside Sustainability’s unique program areas while also making a measurable impact in the community and beyond.

Max regards his internship at Seaside Sustainability as one of the most valuable experiences he has had in his professional life. His favorite part about the role has been the infectious enthusiasm of our dedicated but diverse group of interns and staff. He is inspired by everyone’s dedication toward making a positive difference in not only our community, but also our world. Going forward, Max is looking forward to helping assist in managing Seaside Sustainability’s efforts regarding the Chebacco Lake Watershed health. After he finishes his internship at Seaside Sustainability, Max hopes to continue managing environmental projects.

Thank you Max for your leadership, guidance, and strong work ethic at Seaside Sustainability! You have been an integral part of the Intern Management and Marine Science and Education teams.
