This week’s intern spotlight is Tiffany Lou!
Tiffany is currently a freshman studying sociology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In her free time, she loves reading, playing tennis, taking photographs, and watching movies. Growing up in Beijing and living in New Jersey for many years, Tiffany has a multicultural understanding of obstacles different communities face in achieving a greener society. When she began her internship at Seaside Sustainability, Tiffany was eager to bring her perspectives to the team and be inspired by other self-driven peers who are also passionate about environmental justice.
Tiffany chose to intern at Seaside Sustainability because she is deeply passionate about sustainability and social good. She is currently working on the Visuals and Development teams. Some of the projects she has been working on include editing video scripts and infographics, interviewing local environmental activists, organizing the visual layout of the Plastic Ban Guide, and researching Seaside Sustainability’s partner organizations.
During her internship, Tiffany has been constantly inspired and motivated by her amazing team members. The welcoming and inclusive work environment makes her feel at home while also providing her many opportunities. In the future, Tiffany hopes to work with more nonprofits and spread awareness about issues that are often overlooked like environmental racism.
